For-profit entity
In short
This is a business designed to generate profits for its owners. The SBA 7(a) loan program is exclusively for these types of businesses, not non-profits.
What it means in a deal
To qualify for an SBA 7(a) loan, the business you're acquiring must be a for-profit entity. Non-profits are generally ineligible, with very few exceptions. Confirm the business's legal structure and tax status align with this requirement before applying.
