Servicing Agent
In short
This is the entity responsible for managing your loan after it has been funded, including collecting payments, handling inquiries, and managing escrow accounts. Often, your direct lender is also the servicing agent.
What it means in a deal
After your SBA 7(a) loan closes, the servicing agent will be your primary point of contact for all loan-related matters. They process your payments, provide statements, and handle any modifications or issues that arise. Know who your servicing agent is and their contact procedures from day one.
